SOC 2 readiness, before the auditor arrives

A customer wants your SOC 2 report and the deal is waiting on it. We get your controls, policies and evidence ready for the CPA firm's examination — Type 1 or Type 2 — so the audit confirms what you've built instead of discovering what's missing.

Where most companies get stuck

“The customer wants our SOC 2 report.”

An enterprise or US deal is on hold until you can show an independent report.

“Security questionnaires never end.”

Every prospect sends hundreds of questions. A SOC 2 report answers most of them at once.

“Which criteria — and Type 1 or 2?”

Choosing the wrong scope makes the examination longer and more expensive than it needs to be.

“We don’t have months of evidence.”

Type 2 tests a whole period. Controls that only exist on paper show up as exceptions.

Where to start

Three ways we can help

Start with the readiness assessment, or pick the part you need. You decide how much we take on.

Remediation & Evidence

Close the gaps and start collecting the evidence a Type 2 review period needs.

  • Policies and procedures that match how you actually work
  • Control design for access, change management, monitoring, vendors and more
  • Hands-on help with technical controls — you decide how much we take on
  • Evidence collection set up in your client portal
Scoped per project after the readiness assessment.

Examination Support

Go into the CPA firm's examination prepared, and get through it with less disruption.

  • Help drafting the system description
  • Mock walkthroughs of key controls
  • Support answering auditor requests during fieldwork
  • Help choosing a CPA firm
Available on its own if your controls are already in place.
How it works

From first questionnaire to a clean report

Scope

Your system boundaries, the services customers rely on and the Trust Services Criteria that fit.

Gap analysis

Every relevant criterion checked against how you actually work, tracked in your client portal.

Remediate

Policies, controls and technical fixes, prioritised — with implementation support where you want it.

Examination

Evidence collected through the review period and support while the CPA firm does its fieldwork.

SOC 1

Need SOC 1 instead?

If your service affects your customers' financial reporting — payroll, payments, billing, fund administration, or hosting their financial systems — their financial auditors may ask for a SOC 1 report. It covers controls relevant to your customers' internal control over financial reporting.

The approach is the same: define the control objectives, close the gaps, collect the evidence and prepare for the CPA firm. Some companies need both SOC 1 and SOC 2; much of the work overlaps.

Honest about our role

We're not a CPA firm and don't issue SOC reports. We prepare you for the firm that does.

FAQ

Common questions

Is SOC 2 a certification?

No. SOC 2 is an attestation report issued by a licensed CPA firm under AICPA standards. There is no “SOC 2 certificate”: you receive a report describing your system and the auditor's opinion on your controls, which you share with customers, usually under NDA.

Should we start with a Type 1 or a Type 2 report?

A Type 1 report covers the design of your controls at a point in time; a Type 2 report also tests how they operated over a review period, typically six to twelve months. Many companies start with Type 1 to unblock deals, then move to Type 2, which most customers ultimately expect. The readiness assessment helps you choose.

Which Trust Services Criteria do we need?

Security (the common criteria) is always included. Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality and Privacy are added when they matter to your customers and your service — for example Availability if you promise uptime, or Confidentiality if you handle customers' sensitive data.

Can a Romanian or European company get a SOC 2 report?

Yes. What matters is that the examination is performed by a licensed CPA firm under AICPA standards; many of them work with companies outside the US. We help you prepare and can help you choose a firm.

Does ArxIT Fortis perform the SOC 2 audit?

No. Only a licensed CPA firm can issue a SOC 1 or SOC 2 report. We prepare you for it: scope, gap analysis, controls, policies, evidence and support during the examination.

Selling in Europe as well? Many customers there ask for ISO 27001 instead. See ISO 27001, NIS2 and SOC 2 compared.
